PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP)
Although platelets are mainly known for their important role in stopping acute bleeding by forming a scab, they are also associated to growth factors that promote tissue regeneration. They have been used for decades in other fields of medicine for their healing properties, but it is only recently that they were introduced as a hair loss treatment. PRP stimulates inactive or implanted hair follicles and can be done before and/or after hair transplantation to optimize results.
The day of the procedure, PRP is isolated from your own blood by centrifugation after being drawn. It is then injected to the thinning areas of your scalp via micro-needling. No anesthesia is required.
